"I have a copy of Alexander Stephen death certificate as I'm sure he's the son of James Stephen & Janet Keith. The mother's name on the death certificate does say Reith. James was a farmer at Auchleuchries & can be found there in 1851 census.This James is a half brother of my husband's ancestor,Thomas. They were sons of William Stephen who married an Elizabeth Keith in 1787 in New Deer.William died in 1809 & is buried in Fetterangus as is Elizabeth who died in 1833."
