I have found Alexander's death registration on the Scotland's People website, this gives his parents as Alexander and Ann Anderson. The informant was his son William.

I found the index entry for son William's will and testament on the Scotland's People website:

"SHOEMAKER, RESIDED SOMETIME AT VILLAGE OF TARVES THEREAFTER AT 97 PARK STREET, ABERDEEN, D. 04/02/1892 AT VILLAGE OF TARVES, INTESTATE, BROTHER OF JAMES HAY MUTCH OF 41 GEORGE STREET, ABERDEEN"
